Independent diesel engine service company Royston has been appointed service, sales and parts agent for Niigata diesel engines in Nigeria.

Royston has been a long-standing representative for Niigata in the UK and Ireland, providing maintenance, spares and service support to the medium speed engine manufacturer for over 20 years.

The appointment is supportive of Royston’s expanding fleet management offering to customers where all diesel engines in a fleet can be managed from a single source. The company has over 35 years’ experience of working on all types of marine diesel engines and has long standing relationships with the major diesel engine OEMs, including, GE, Yanmar, Volvo Penta and Cummins, as well as for Napier turbochargers; and have trained engineers and has a genuine spares supply capability for all other engine types.

Maintaining official representation agreements with the OEMs has required a commitment to ongoing investment in training and accreditation. Royston’s skilled team of marine engineers has widespread experience of working on all major diesel engine types and all have been trained to OEM standards.

Royston’s presence in Nigeria is supported by its Lagos-based power engineering operation, BCL Royston, and the new relationship with Niigata will expand the company’s market presence in the country.
